NEXUS Automotive International (N!) has strengthened its support for the Heavy Duty sector with the senior appointment of Janusz Zielinski as the alliance’s first Truck Business Developer.
Janusz, Polish native, has more than 20 years’ experience in the international automotive aftermarket, particularly in Commercial Vehicles in Europe, the Middle East and Africa within the global manufactures Meritor and Schaeffler.
NEXUS has recently increased its Heavy Duty focus, unveiling initiatives to accelerate the growth of the NEXUSTRUCK workshop concept while also seeking more generally to build business for all its suppliers and members.
A major task for Janusz in his new role will be to guide the setting up of the first NEXUS HEAVY DUTY Business Forum (N!BF Heavy Duty), which will take place in Abu Dhabi in March.
Gael Escribe, CEO of NEXUS, said: “Heavy Duty is an important segment of the aftermarket and we are already achieving considerable success. The NEXUSTRUCK network is well established in Spain and Portugal and our inaugural N! Workshop event in Madrid was well attended by N! members from North America, the Middle East, Europe and Africa.
“We are delighted to have someone of such high calibre as Janusz joining NEXUS as our first dedicated Truck Business Developer. His experience will be invaluable as we seek to develop even more opportunities in Heavy Duty for our N! members and suppliers.”
A qualified ski instructor and Alfa Romeo classic car enthusiast, Janusz speaks English, German, Polish and Russian.
He said: “Having had some experience of NEXUS in my previous posting, I know it to be the most dynamic and forward-thinking international trading group in the world. It’s a role and a challenge that excites me.”
Today’s N! heavy duty community is made up of 42 N! members and 47 heavy duty parts suppliers, with a collective turnover of more than 3,300M€ covering 20% of N! volumes.
A group of Managing Directors and Purchasing Managers from 10 N! Heavy Duty members were given a special opportunity to connect closely with N! suppliers when two of the leading manufacturers in the global truck market hosted them on a factory tour.
The three-day visit took place in Germany and was organised by Schaeffler and MANN+HUMMEL, in collaboration with NEXUS.
The 10 N! members were from Algeria, Greece, Latvia, Moldova, Hungary, the Netherlands and the United Arab Emirates.
First stop was Schaeffler Automotive Aftermarket near Frankfurt, which included a fleet management workshop, followed by a visit to the Schaeffler brand Luk headquarters in Bühl, where the participants got a chance to see up close the suppliers’ premium range and expertise for heavy commercial vehicle transmission products. The last visit stop took place in Ludwigsburg and was hosted by the strong player in filtration technology, MANN+HUMMEL.
The visit was part of an increased focus by NEXUS on strengthening the Heavy Duty sector within the N! Community so it is better positioned to respond to market trends, including digitalisation and a growth in large fleets.
Keith Leadbeater, Director Commercial Vehicles at Schaeffler Automotive Aftermarket said: “We very much appreciate the personal dialogue with our customers and NEXUS. It is very valuable for us in order to develop ideas and solutions together that are of benefit for all participants of the business through to our end-customers.”
Brigitte Steinbach, Director Sales IAM Key Accounts and ITGs for MANN+HUMMEL, said: “We very much appreciate the efforts NEXUS is undertaking to increase the focus of the N! Community with regards to the Heavy Duty business. The approach to combine two leading parts manufacturers and enter into a dialogue with the Nexus members from a number of different markets has provided us with very interesting insights and new concrete ideas for further business development. Thank you to everyone involved for this very beneficial event!”
Janusz Zielinski, N! Heavy Duty global business developer, said: “Collaboration with global manufacturers is fundamental to gaining a full understanding of the future directions of the market, and to create a synergy between distributors and suppliers. We are very grateful to Schaeffler and MANN+HUMMEL for hosting this special visit. It was a unique opportunity for N! members to connect with N! suppliers, visit their factories and share interesting insights on the Heavy Duty business. It definitely deepened their knowledge of two of the most important global manufacturers in the truck sector.”

A clear design, high quality product pictures, and an unmistakable brand allocation – the Automotive Aftermarket division of Schaeffler is now delivering spare parts and repair solutions in newly-designed packaging worldwide.
A mix of the new and proven characterize the reworked design, which is being introduced in a step-by-step process to the product packaging of Schaeffler’s Automotive Aftermarket division. To optically underscore the high quality of the solutions they contain, the packages now have large, high-quality and photo-realistic pictures of individual products and complete repair solutions. And for the first time, an additional focus has been put on the umbrella brand Schaeffler, which is prominently displayed directly over each of the product pictures.
Each package has a band printed on it that ensures distribution partners and garages can continue to identify each product brand quickly. This band is the color of each product brand – LuK in its typical yellow, the INA brand in green and FAG in red. The product name on each package is in ten languages as well.
“With us, you’ll find high quality in every detail – from a single clutch, all the way to accessory parts like the screws and bolts delivered in many of our repair solutions,” said Rouven Daniel, Director Marketing and Communications at Schaeffler’s Automotive Aftermarket division. “And it’s precisely this commitment to quality that we are expressing in our new packaging design. In addition, our Automotive Aftermarket organization moved closer to the Schaeffler Group when it was established as a stand-alone division on 1 January 2018. Seen clearly now on our product packaging, therefore, is our umbrella brand Schaeffler, which will continue to be strengthened by the familiarity of our established product brands. But at the same time, we are making sure that our product brands, and the attributes associated with them, remain recognizable at garages and distributors.”
In accordance with its sustainability strategy “Responsibility for tomorrow,” Schaeffler chose the materials and manufacturing of the new packaging with a focus on high environmental standards. All packages are easy to dispose of and recycle.
More information about the entire product portfolio of Schaeffler’s Automotive Aftermarket division is available at the online portal REPXPERT (www.repxpert.com). You can get firsthand information as well at the Automechanika Frankfurt, which will be held from 11 to 15 September 2018. Visit us in the Forum of Messe Frankfurt, stand A01 – learn more here: www.schaeffler.com/en/automechanika.
Whether it’s for passenger cars, light and heavy commercial vehicles or tractors – Schaeffler products of the LuK, INA and FAG brands will be found on the shelves at garages and distributors in newly-designed packaging in the future.
Following three memorable and successful years amid the majestic surroundings of Montreux, overlooking beautiful Lake Geneva, the annual NEXUS Business Forum is moving to a new, equally exciting, venue.
The 2018 location for the Forum will be the stunning Yas Viceroy Hotel in Abu Dhabi. This hotel sits half on land and half on water, overlooking the Yas Marina and the Yas Marina Circuit, host of the Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
We have selected this new venue for our flagship event not just because it is an impressive location but, more importantly, to reflect the fact we are a progressive community represented around the globe.
And where better, or more appropriate, to go than somewhere that hosts one of the leading centres for business on the planet, where each element of the N! community can easily be brought together.
It is easy for our members and partners to reach, with a well-connected airport. In addition, this new location will enable us to bring a new structure to the Forum, so you get even more out of it.
Abu Dhabi is a place where history meets the future, where tradition meets innovation. Please save the date. We hope to see you there in 2018.
Your personal invitation will follow shortly through the platform Evenium.
